A. Participation:

a) The competition is open to all students and lecturers in Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM) from all over the campus in Malaysia.

b) Participation in the quiz is only possible using the BvD OSIRIS database in your library resources on campus. Copy this link http://osiris.bvdinfo.com/ip and paste to new browser.

1) Fill in the answer to the Quiz Questions (as the attached pdf ) ; and

2) Enter the details requested, including but not restricted to a valid email address and Student/Lecturer Number/ ID.    

c) Participation becomes official once the details have been entered and the participation confirmation notification sent to senders. The closing date for submitting the answers to BvD is on 6pm 28th November 2014 to the email address: Apac.quiz@bvdinfo.com
    

d) Participants may only submit a single entry

B. Competition 

The quiz question is a scenario analysis based on BvD OSIRIS database

C. The Winner 

a) The winner will be appointed after the quiz end date. The winner is the person who

b) Complies with all requirement set under Rule A above; and

c) Answers the Quiz Questions correctly; and

d) Understanding if there is a tie, the winner will be selected from the submitted entries by a jury whose decision will be impartial and in keeping the objective and rules of the competition

D. Exclusion 

BvD reserves the right to exclude from participation in the competition any person of misuse, fraud or cheating.

E. Contacting the Winner/s
The winner/s will be notified by email. The winner’s name will be published on the Library website on 15th Dec, 2014.

G. Cancellation 

BvD reserves the right to suspend or cancel the competition at any time on the grounds of force majeure.

H. Acceptance of the Rules 

a) Any person who submits his/her details to participate in this competition accepts that these rules are integral part of the competition. BvD decision’s is final and no enquiries to be entertained.    

b) The winners have to be presented the prize at the prize giving ceremony. Should there be no show; the prize will be given to the next winner.

c) In case the stated prizes become unavailable, BvD will substitute the prizes with equivalent value.

Kelas yang dikendalikan oleh pegawai perpustakaan dari Bahagian Perkhidmatan Akademik (BPA), Puan Siti Rohayu Mohd Yusof dengan pelajar dari fakulti Sains Gunaan, UiTM Shah Alam. 

Kelas bermula dari jam 10.00 pagi hingga 1.00 petang (3 jam) merangkumi pembelajaran tentang Endnote & Pencarian Maklumat (Portal perpustakaan)

Pentingnya Hakcipta dan Harta Intelek di Perpustakaan Dijagai

Shah Alam, 13 Ogos – Program “Wacana Hakcipta dan Harta Intelek” berhasil memberikan satu pendedahan yang berguna kepada warga kerja Perpustakaan di dalam mengenalpasti, menilai dan menjaga setiap hasil penulisan yang diserahkan sebagai satu bentuk aset yang bernilai.
Program ini yang dianjurkan oleh Perpustakaan Tun Abdul Razak (PTAR) adalah merupakan salah satu inisiatif perpustakaan dalam memberi pengetahuan kepada warga kerja PTAR terutamanya Puastakawan mengenai hakcipta dan harta intelek di dalam konteks perpustakaan dalam memudahkan proses operasi harian.

Program yang berlangsung selama dua hari ini dan bertempat di dewan kuliah Perpustakaan Pengurusan Perniagaan telah dirasmikan oleh Ketua Pustakawan UiTM iaitu Encik Noor Hidayat Adnan manakala taklimat berkenaan tajuk yang dipilih dikendalikan oleh dua orang penceramah yang berpengalaman di dalam bidang undang-undang terutamanya Akta Hakcipta dan Harta Intelek.
Dua orang penceramah yang dijemput khas untuk menyampaikan taklimat berkenaan adalah Profesor Madya Dr. Nazura Abdul Manap dan Profesor Madya Rohazar Wati Zuallcobley. 

Profesor Madya Dr Nazura Abdul Manap yang menyampaikan taklimat beliau pada hari yang pertama adalah merupakan seorang pensyarah undang-undang siber di  Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).
 
Dalam ceramah tersebut, beliau telah menyampaikan maklumat dan informasi tentang peri pentingnya mengetahui tentang undang-undang harta intelek, undang-undang hakcipta, isu hakcipta dalam transaksi perpustakaan, isu hakcipta dalam unit media perpustakaan dan hakcipta dalam transaksi pinjaman antara perpustakaan kepada warga kerja PTAR  agar sentiasa peka dan mengambil berat tentang hasil penulisan yang diserahkan.
 
Manakala untuk sesi hari kedua pula, Profesor Madya Rohazar Wati Zuallcobley yang juga merupakan seorang pensyarah Fakulti Undang-undang di UiTM Shah Alam telah menyampaikan ceramah beliau berkisar mengenai isu hakcipta berkaitan bahan-bahan koleksi khas atau nadir, pendigitan bahan-bahan perpustakaan, perlesenan hakcipta bagi jurnal dan pangkalan data, e-repositori dan isu hakcipta dan isu-isu semasa berkaitan hakcipta dan perpustakaan.

Program yang diadakan ini dilihat mampu memberi pengetahuan tambahan kepada peserta program yang rata-ratanya terdiri daripada pustakawan daripada pelbagai jabatan dan perpustakaan fakulti dalam penghasilan karya dan bagaimana karya tersebut dilindungi dengan akta hakcipta yang telah tersenarai dan termaktub.

Abstract : Scientific researchers face an exciting, and possibly surprising array of new methods to manipulate and manage the impacts of their research. These tools include Altmetrics – usage analysis of their research including citations, social media and full-text downloads; Big Data - where by the researcher utilizes  big data sets  to handle complex information; Open Access – OA  journals offer the opportunity for  wider dissemination of  researchers’ scientific  findings; and Text Mining where tailored text “definitions” of research terms may derive more high quality information to enhance the use of the research by others. With these tools, research will be translated more quickly into tangible results.

Speaker:

Kiki Forsythe, M.L.S., is the Senior Publisher Relations Specialist for the American Association for the Advancement of Science. She has worked for the Office of Publishing and Member Services for AAAS 10 years. She holds  cumulative publishing experience of  40 years. 

She has worked with International Thompson, University of Hawaii Press, Academic Press/Elsevier, Smithson Books, and AAAS. Her specialization with AAAS is working with the newest peer-reviewed AAAS journals, Science Signaling and Science Translational Medicine, launching the journals and collaborating with librarians and AAAS representatives worldwide.
