Perisian Turnitin di UiTM

Turnitin adalah perisian yang memberikan kemudahan kepada pelanggan untuk membuat padanan teks penulisan dengan teks yang terdapat dalam server Turnitin.  Padanan akan menunjukkan peratus kesamaan dengan teks yang disemak.  Dalam erti kata yang lebih mudah, ia merupakan satu perisian yang digunakan untuk mengesan aktiviti plagiat (plagarism checker).


Oleh yang demikian, penggunaannya sangat relevan bagi pensyarah (untuk pelajar pra siswazah) dan supervisor (untuk pelajar pasca siswazah).   Adalah difahamkan bahawa, setiap Ketua Pengajian Pasca Siswazah (KPPS) di setiap fakulti dipertanggungjawabkan untuk menyebarkan tentang perisian ini kepada setiap pensyarah dan supervisor,  kemudian mereka perlu mendaftar melalui fakulti masing-masing untuk mendapatkan akaun yang sah.



Perpustakaan Tun Abdul Razak UiTM tidak menyediakan perkhidmatan perisian Turnitin untuk para pengguna.  Namun demikian, pihak kami sering ditanya adakah mereka boleh mendapatkan perisian ini di perpustakaan.   Setelah mendapat maklumat yang sahih dari IPSis, maka ini adalah beberapa perkara berkaitan perisian ini yang ingin kami kongsikan dengan para pengguna.

Maklumat akaun:
a. Sejumlah akaun untuk perisian Turnitin diperuntukkan untuk pelajar pasca siswazah (Sarjana dan PhD) dan mereka boleh mendapatkannya dari supervisor masing-masing.
b. Sejumlah akaun pula adalah untuk pelajar pra-siswazah (Degree, Diploma) : bermaksud [1 akaun = 1 pensyarah = untuk 30-40 orang pelajar]

a. Untuk bantuan teknikal : sila hubungi, Khairul Ihsan Abdul Aziz, Penolong Pegawai Teknologi Maklumat : 603-55225435 (Bahagian ICT, IPSis)
b. Untuk para pensyarah : mereka boleh menghubungi Ketua Pengajian Pasca Siswazah (KPPS) di setiap fakulti masing-masing untuk mendaftar.

What is MENDELEY?


Mendeley is a desktop and web program for managing and sharing research papers, discovering research data and collaborating online. It combines Mendeley Desktop, a PDF and reference management application (available for Windows, Mac and Linux) with Mendeley Web, an online social network for researchers. 

Mendeley requires the user to store all basic citation data on its servers - storing copies of documents is at the user's discretion. Upon registration, Mendeley provides the user with 2 GB of free web storage space, which is upgradeable at a cost. (source: Wikipedia)

(tech) Free CAD open source


FreeCAD is a general purpose 3D CAD modeler. The development is completely Open Source (GPL & LGPL License). FreeCAD is aimed directly at mechanical engineering and product design but also fits in a wider range of uses around engineering, such as architecture or other engineering specialties.

FreeCAD features tools similar to Catia, SolidWorks or Solid Edge, and therefore also falls into the category of MCAD, PLM, CAx and CAE. It will be a feature based parametric modeler with a modular software architecture which makes it easy to provide additional functionality without modifying the core system.


As with many modern 3D CAD modelers it has many 2D components in order to sketch 2D shapes or extract design detail from the 3D model to create 2D production drawings, but direct 2D drawing (like AutoCAD LT) is not the focus, neither are animation or organic shapes (like Maya, 3ds Max, Blender or Cinema 4D), although, thanks to its wide adaptability, FreeCAD might become useful in a much broader area than its current focus.

Another major concern of FreeCAD is to make heavy use of all the great open-source libraries that exist out there in the field of Scientific Computing. Among them are OpenCascade, a powerful CAD kernel, Coin3D, an incarnation of OpenInventor, Qt, the world-famous UI framework, and Python, one of the best scripting languages available. FreeCAD itself can also be used as a library by other programs.

FreeCAD is also fully multi-platform, and currently runs flawlessly on Windows and Linux/Unix and Mac OSX systems, with the exact same look and functionality on all platforms.
